In the 1990s, while at the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Morris ran public affairs campaigns and created PR resources for NAIFA’s 1,000 state and local affiliates, including media kits, op-eds and speeches. He also helped build one of the largest grassroots programs in the insurance industry.
In 2000, he joined the National Association of Federal Credit Unions and led the association’s marketing and communications team, handling all aspects of messaging, branding and public outreach. As senior vice president, he provided strategic communications guidance to NAFCU’s CEO, board and management.
Morris began his association career in the 1980s at the National Restaurant Association, where he edited a highly respected Washington Weekly newsletter. He also served as media spokesperson and wrote testimony, comment letters, position papers and speeches.
