NAFCU Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications Jay Morris will be stepping down this fall after 11 years of service to the association, NAFCU President Fred Becker announced Wednesday.

“During his tenure at NAFCU, Jay has played a key role in improving our electronic and print publications, expanding our press relations and fine-tuning our marketing programs,” said Becker. “Under his direction, NAFCU created the highly rated NAFCU Today e-mail news service, significantly expanded news and coverage of NAFCU – both in the trade and national media – and helped build a world-class marketing and communications team. We wish him all the best as he pursues new opportunities.”

Morris, a 30-year veteran of Washington, D.C., trade association work, said he plans to explore other career opportunities and perhaps begin his own public relations consulting firm later this year.

“At NAFCU, I’ve had the good fortune of working with some of the best people in the credit union industry,” said Morris. “I am extremely proud of our marketing and communications team and all that they have accomplished. This is a good time for me personally and professionally to make some changes, and I look forward to taking on new challenges.”
